Mourning 'Grim' Lyte

Mourning Lyte is an elderly unicorn who lives in the Everfree village. He helps cater funeral services, and helps spirits move on to the other side.

He was born in a small village a few miles away from Ponyville, and he lived with his father and younger sisters. When his mother died, he grew midly depressed, and had grown to become calm, quiet, and dull. 

His father owned a funeral home, so him and Mourning created the mother's funeral, and Mourning had to bury her himself while his father went to cook dinner for the night. Mourning would sit at his mother's grave at the end of a long day, bring flowers, and lightly talk to her. His friends soon nicknamed him Grim because of his new behaviors. 

The funeral may have been harsh on him, but helping his mother's spirit helped bring closure to him. One night, Mourning was awoken to the sound of her crying, and he saw her spirit in his room. Mourning comforted her, said his good byes, and reassured her to help her move on to the afterlife. After this draining situation, he fell asleep before he saw his cutie mark appear on his flank. 

He grew up helping cater funerals, and helped unrest spirits move move on, and he soon moved to the village in the Everfree Forest to live a calmer lifestyle, less saddening lifestyle. He's managed to live a long life and has helped make a difference in many lives.
